This is the first part of our thoracic mobility series. We cover what thoracic mobility is, why we need it, how it will help you in the gym and how to minimize pain due to poor range of motion.
A lack of thoracic function is common among new clients at One On One. The muscles around the spine tighten with excess sitting, lack of exercise, and back pain. The nice thing is that it is relatively easy to increase mobility through this region of the back and gain the benefits of full range of motion.
In the rest of the series we will be guiding you through exercises to improve thoracic function through flexion/extension and rotation. By following along with this mobility series, you will have enhanced function through your back, less stiffness and potentially less pain.
