James Fernandez is a passionate and dedicated personal trainer, currently entering his final year as a Kinesiology student at the University of Calgary. With a robust academic foundation in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise psychology, James is committed to enhancing health and fitness through evidence-based practices.
Throughout his academic and professional journey, James has gained hands-on experience in various roles. As a Client Exercise Assistant at U of C’s rehabilitation and fitness program, he has developed a keen understanding of individualized care and exercise prescription which allowed him to connect with clients on a personal level, tailoring programs to meet diverse fitness goals.
James’ experience as a Performance Coach Intern helped to develop his skills in performance optimization and program management. During this time, he worked closely with athletes to develop customized training programs aimed at maximizing strength, agility, and endurance. James also gained valuable experience in monitoring fitness progress, implementing recovery strategies, and utilizing advanced training technologies.
James holds a Personal Trainer certificate through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. He also holds a Standard First Aid, CPR/AED Level C certification, ensuring a safe training environment for all clients. James’ fitness philosophy emphasizes the importance of holistic well-being, aiming to improve not only physical health but also emotional and mental resilience through exercise.
